PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk added payments to the mobile banking application Muamalat DIN by adding the payment feature for Land and Building Tax (PBB) and motor vehicle taxes.

Bank Muamalat Head of Information Technology, Sandhy Sofian, said that the presence of this tax payment feature provides flexibility for Bank Muamalat customers. This innovation is also a form of commitment by the pioneer of Islamic banks in the country in providing innovative banking services and providing convenience for customers in managing their tax obligations.

"With this feature, our customers can pay off the PBB and motor vehicle taxes easily, quickly, and transparently. We hope this feature can strengthen the digital banking experience and provide significant added value for our customers," he said in a statement received by VOI, Saturday, May 27.

For PBB payments, customers simply access the 'payment' menu and choose the 'PBB' feature. For now, the PBB payment feature for Muamalat DIN has covered 85 districts/cities spread across 30 provinces.

As for motor vehicle tax payments, customers need to get a payment code first through the National Digital Samsat (Signal) application. Furthermore, login customers to Muamalat DIN and access the 'payment' menu. Then, customers choose the Samsat/Signal feature, select the region, enter the pay code and complete the payment. After the transaction is successful, the STNK delivery process can then be seen through the Signal application. Currently, the payment feature for the Muamalat DIN vehicle tax has covered 15 provinces.

According to Sandhy, the Muamalat DIN application is equipped with the latest security features such as biometric login and automatic readout of One Time Password (OTP). In addition, there is a payment feature using a QR Code that is connected to the Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard (QRIS) which is the standardization of payments using the QR Code method from Bank Indonesia.

Shandy added that currently, more than 90 percent of Bank Muamalat customer transactions have been carried out through digital channels where the majority are through the Muamalat DIN application.

"As of March 31, 2023, the total number of users of the Muamalat DIN application was recorded at around 400 thousand. This figure increased 23.7 percent compared to the same period last year," he concluded.
