Labuan Bajo Promenade Development Is Urged To Pay Attention To Cleanliness And Rigidness

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono asked the construction of a pedestrian program in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), to pay attention to cleanliness and tidiness.

"Please speed up the work, but pay attention to cleanliness and tidiness. Also take advantage of plants such as Ketapang Kencana so that the landscape is better," Minister Basuki said in a written statement, Monday, May 8.

Basuki said the Promenade was a connecting access for pedestrians to the Marina area in Zone 4 Labuan Bajo.

The construction of the Marina Promenade began in February 2023 and is targeted to be completed soon, so that it can be functional in supporting the activities of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, on 9-11 May.

The scope of work includes the construction of the Promenade at the TNK Hall pier area, the Arrangement of the Labuan Bajo ASDP Port parking area, and Landscape Arrangement.

Regarding the construction of the Promenade itself, it has been carried out through the NTT Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center and carried out by PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) as a contractor with PT Yodya Karya as construction management.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of PUPR, Diana Kusumastuti, appealed to the work to continue to pay attention to cleanliness. "Towards the ASEAN Summit, please clean up the garbage, don't spread around. So, not only the clean inside, but outside must also be clean," he added.
