JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted, as many as 494,091 vehicles left the Jabotabek area on D-7 to D-5 Idulfitri 1444 Hijriah which crashed in the period Saturday-Monday (15-17 April 2023).

Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head of PT Jasa Marga Lisye Octaviani said that this number is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Barrier / Main Toll Gates (GT), namely Cikupa GT (Merak direction), Ciawi GT (Pount direction), Cikampek Utama GT (direction to Trans Java), and Kalihurip Utama GT (direction to Bandung).

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area increased by 21.84 percent when compared to normal traffic (from 405,518 vehicles). When compared to the Lebaran 2022 period, the total traffic volume was 2.3 percent lower (out of 505,814 vehicles)," said Lisye in a written statement, Tuesday, April 18.

"Meanwhile, when compared with the prediction of the 2023 Eid traffic volume in the same period, the total traffic volume is 6.3 percent lower (out of 527,094 vehicles)," he added.

For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards all three directions, namely the majority of 260,077 vehicles (as large as 52.6 percent) heading East (Trans Java and Bandung), 136,252 vehicles (27.6 percent) heading West (Merak), and 97,762 vehicles (19.8 percent) heading South (Puncak).

The details of the traffic distribution are as follows, namely traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 168,443 vehicles, an increase of 95.23 percent from normal traffic.

Then, traffic left Jabotabek heading towards Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 91,634 vehicles or 2.28 percent lower than normal traffic.

"So that the total traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs is 260,077 vehicles or an increase of 44.44 percent from normal traffic," said Lisye.

Then, traffic leaving Jabotabek towards Merak via the Cikupa GT Tangerang-Merak Toll Road reached 136,252 vehicles or an increase of 8.73 percent from normal traffic.

Meanwhile, continued Lisye, the number of vehicles leaving Jabotabek heading towards Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 97,762 vehicles or 2.39 percent lower than normal traffic.

"Jasa Marga also urges people who will travel back and forth via toll roads to ensure travel readiness, such as meeting travel requirements, ensuring the condition of the driver and vehicle is in prime condition and roadworthy, preparing supplies, ensuring sufficient fuel, and electronic money balances," he concluded.
