JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially opened the Indonesian Pavilion at the Hannover Messe 2023 technology exhibition, today.

On this occasion, Jokowi was accompanied by First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir, Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, and Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Retno Marsudi.

"Welcome to the Indonesian Pavilion, a special-designed Pavilion following the form of a traditional Indonesian ship, a phinisi ship," said Jokowi at the opening of Hannover Messe 2023, Monday, April 17.

Jokowi said that his party wanted to bring Indonesia's spirit in navigating the challenges of the future.

"This phinisi ship has a compass which we call the Making Indonesia 4.0 Roadmap," he said.

As the equator of industrial transformation in Indonesia, Jokowi wants to invite all invited guests to see Indonesia as a land of opportunity and as a future manufacturing hub.

"This phinisi ship has two main screen poles with seven screens. The two main screen poles reflect Indonesia's transformation foundation, namely industrial downstreaming and accelerating the clean energy transition," he said.

"Meanwhile, the seven-screen symbol reflects priority sectors prioritized by co-exhibitors, including food, textiles, automotives, electronics, chemicals, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals," he said.

President Jokowi assessed that accelerating the transformation of Indonesia's industry would contribute to the revival of the regional economy and the global economy.

"So with the spirit of infinite journey, I will officially open the Indonesian Pavilion at Hannover Messe 2023," he concluded.
