Pelindo Gives Discounts On The Accumulation Of Goods And Containers Up To 50 Percent, Save The Date

JAKARTA - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo provides incentives in the form of waivers of fees for bills for the accumulation of goods and containers up to 50 percent during the period of restriction on the transportation of goods from homecoming and back to Eid al-Fitr in 2023.

This cost relief applies to goods and containers located in the buildup area from April 17, 2023 to May 2, 2023.

The provision of discounts also applies to containers that are in the field of buildup of extensions, field of line 2 buildup, and integrated physical inspection sites that are still in one container terminal area.

Pelindo's Corporate Secretariat Group Head, Ali Mulyono, said that discounting is part of the company's efforts to support government policies.

The provision of discounts applies at all terminals operated by the company's groups including SubHolding PT Pelindo Petikemas Terminal (SPTP), PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), KSO Koja Container Terminal, and PT New Priok Container Terminal 1 (NPCT1) which are affected by transportation operational restrictions.

"This discount applies to the unloading service of goods and containers between islands and imported containers that cannot leave the terminal (delivery) due to restrictions on the transportation of goods during the homecoming period and the return of Eid transportation in 2023," Ali said in an official statement, Monday, April 17.

Ali said, throughout the Lebaran holiday period in 2023, terminal operations continued.

Pelindo also guarantees loading and unloading services for ships, a buildup of goods, clean water supply and other supporting services will continue for 24 hours 7 days, Ali explained.

In order to avoid excessive buildup in the terminal area, Pelindo will optimize the buildup field in one terminal area.

This was done because loading and unloading activities and containers were still ongoing, but the goods and containers could not get out of the terminal due to restrictions.

Pelindo, Ali said, hopes that the owners of the goods will continue to remove their belongings and containers at a time when there are no restrictions, so that they can help reduce the buildup of goods and containers at the Port.

"Activities inside the terminal remain normal, loading and unloading of goods and containers at the dock continues. We have prepared supporting areas for the buildup field so as not to be excessive, including the engineering of buildup in the terminal," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, Arif Toha, ensured that logistics supplies ran smoothly during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Arif said, service users and the public do not need to worry because the port continues to serve loading and unloading for logistics needs during the Eid al-Fitr period.

"So service users don't need to worry about this Lebaran holiday, ports will continue to serve loading and unloading based on the needs of the area. It is also hoped that the public will not need to panic about the need for basic commodities because the Directorate General of Hubla will optimally serve loading and unloading of people's logistics needs," said Arif.
