Wow! Hundreds Of Ministry Of Finance Employees Were Taken By Sri Mulyani For Being Involved In Illegal Transactions

JAKARTA The hearing at Commission III of the DPR which brought together the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and the Head of PPATK Ivan Yustiavandana revealed a number of new facts.

In the presentation presented by Sri Mulyani, it was revealed that the prosecution of Ministry of Finance employees who were proven to have violated financial transactions reached hundreds of people. It was recorded that there were around 193 individuals who had been sentenced to disciplinary penalties with nine others having been handed over to Law Enforcement Officials (APH).

Meanwhile, this number is an accumulation of case handling carried out in the period 2009 to 2023.

"The Ministry of Finance and PPATK continues to work together and synergize in preventing and eradicating the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU)," Sri Mulyani said in a written statement quoted on Thursday, April 13.

According to him, this collaboration has even been strengthened in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) since 2007 between the Ministry of Finance and PPATK.

It is stated that the pattern of cooperation that is built includes data/information exchange, case handling assistance, audit implementation, formulation of legal products, research, socialization, human resource development, to the development of information technology systems.

"We also organized the Joint Analysis Tripartite Intelligence Forum with the nickname Jagadara referring to the abbreviation of the locations of 3 collaborating institutions, namely in the Juanda area (PPATK), Gatot Subroto (DJP), and Rawamangun (DJBC)," he said.

The Minister of Finance explained that this Intelligence Forum was also actively involved in the National Coordination Committee for Prevention and Eradication of Money Laundering with the aim of optimizing state revenues.

"We are ready to work with all stakeholders to maintain the economy, improve the people's prosperity fairly, and maintain the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he concluded.
