In order to improve the quality of industrial human resources (HR), the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has again held the Industrial Vocational Revenue Line (Jaris) for the fourth time, this year.

Head of the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) of the Ministry of Industry Masrokhan said, to maintain the performance of the industrial sector, the government views that industrial Human Resources (HR) are the subject of economic development and are inseparable from the production process.

"Through skills, knowledge, and experience, industrial workers will contribute to the quality of the company's products, production efficiency, and competitiveness," he said in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, April 11.

Masrokhan said that improving the quality of industrial human resources would have an impact on overall economic growth. "Therefore, the vocational education unit within the Ministry of Industry was born to answer the challenges of developing industrial human resources as well as a strategy in developing the national industry," he said.

Later, Jarvis will provide opportunities for high-end education graduates, which include high school, vocational, MA or equivalent levels to enter vocational higher education levels at 11 polytechnics and two community academies within the Ministry of Industry.

Furthermore, middle education graduates or junior high school level can also register for three SMK-SMAK and six SMK SMTI Kemenperin through Jarvis.

"New student admissions through Jarvis for polytechnics and community academies are expected to attract 4,053 new students. Meanwhile, Jarvis SMK will accommodate 2,399 students," added Masrokhan.

Jarvis itself consists of three registration channels, namely Jarvis Mandiri which is held by their respective education units, Jasvis Achievement for the selection of outstanding students, and Jarvis Bersama which is held simultaneously for all education units of the Ministry of Industry.

Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Industrial Vocational Education Development at the Ministry of Industry Emmy Suryandari said, for Jarvis Bersama, all processes were carried out online through the Jarvis.kemenperin.go.id website. Registration starts from April 10 to May 19, 2023.

Furthermore, said Emmy, the Ministry of Industry's education unit has implemented best practice vocational education through dual system education (dual system), namely education that is carried out in a balanced manner, both on campus and in industry.

"SMK and the Ministry of Industry campus also have cooperation with industry, both in providing education and internships for students, students, teachers, and lecturers. In addition, there is international cooperation, such as with Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Singapore, Canada, and Australia," he added.

The Ministry of Industry's education unit has been equipped with equipment, laboratories, industrial standard workshops, and technical factory. These facilities are adjusted to the needs of each industrial sector, so that graduates can immediately adapt when entering the industry.

To date, the Ministry of Industry already has an industrial vocational education unit, consisting of nine SMKs, 11 Polytechnics, and two community academies spread across 12 provinces.
