Toyota Ensures Exported Vehicles To Australia Can Be Accepted By Market

JAKARTA - Director of External Relations of PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN), Bob Azam, revealed that his party is making sure that vehicles exported to Australia can be well received in terms of quality by consumers in this Kangaroo country.

"We are making sure that what we export is well received in terms of quality, by consumers in Australia, because the standard here is much higher," said Bob, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, April 11.

The export achievement target that managed to penetrate Australia in early 2022 was with consumer complaints over the quality of zero percent (zero quality complaint).

According to him, this is more important as a form of market testing in the first export to avoid losses.

"Because, for example, if the car problem is reversed, call. It's rich in the Middle East if for example the problem is if we want to keep selling it, it's considered a used car, imagine," he explained.

For this reason, Toyota Indonesia conducts its first export to Australia with not so much to understand the problems that may arise. So that in the future we can expand bigger.

Bob added, Australia also applies high requirements in terms of emissions, another requirement is the vehicle collision test

Another specification that Toyota Indonesia deserves to meet in penetrating the Australian market is the standard air safety bag or airbag for children in back seats to buttons connecting to emergency calls.

Previously, the Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita released the first export of domestically produced hybrid vehicles, namely the Toyota Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid produced by PT TMMIN in Karawang, West Java.

The Minister of Industry explained that vehicles that meet 70 percent of the Domestic Content Level (TKDN) will be exported to 27 countries including Australia with a total of 2,000 units by 2023.
