JAKARTA - PT Bio Farma is one of the SOEs invited by President Joko Widodo at the State Palace during the handover of Zakat to the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) 2023.

Bio Farma formed the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) Bio Farma Group which is a special team tasked with managing income zakat from Bio Farma, Kimia Farma and Indofarma employees.
"That way, zakat distribution is more optimal in supporting the development of the sharia economy community. The income zakat from employees is submitted to the UPZ Bio Farma Group for further distribution through Baznas," said Honesti.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Baznas Noor Achmad MA reported that the collection of Zakat Infak Sedekah (ZIS) funds for the Other Religious Social Funds (DSKL) nationally in 2022 reached IDR 22.4 trillion, an increase of 58.03 percent.
This increase also occurred in the collection of zakat collected by Baznas.
