Support Lebaran 2023 Transportation, Pelita Air Adds Airbus A320 Fleet

PT Pelita Air Service (PAS) or Pelita Air has again added a new fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft to strengthen the scheduled commercial flight business (scheduled flight) to support Eid 2023 transportation.

Pelita Air President Director Dendy Kurniawan said that currently Pelita Air has five Airbus A320 aircraft out of a total plan of 18 Airbus A320 aircraft in 2023.

"The arrival of this fifth aircraft is a tangible manifestation of the company's commitment to strengthening domestic route services to support air connectivity in Indonesia and also to coincide with preparations for anticipating increased demand ahead of Eid," said Dendy as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 29.

The presence of the five fleets, he said, complements the presence of the previous fleets that have been present since April 2022 for the first and second fleets, followed by August in the same year for the third fleet, and February 2023 for the fourth fleet.

He said, specifically facing the Eid homecoming, the company is ready to continue to add new fleets and routes as expected by the community.

Currently Pelita Air is waiting for the arrival of the sixth to tenth planes until July 2023. Meanwhile, the 11th to 18 aircraft will only arrive in Semester II/2023.

The Ministry of Transportation predicts that people who will go home will reach 123.8 million people.

This number increased by 14.2 percent compared to the last Lebaran period in 2022 which reached 85.5 million people.

The prediction of a surge in the flow of people's homecoming is due to changes in policies and regulations for handling COVID-19 which are also getting better, besides that, the economic factor of the community who has recovered is the reason for the potential increase in volume.

Dendy explained that the scheduled flight is a form of transformation of Pelita Air's business which focuses on being the main line of business, apart from water charters, logistics, aero services and ancillaries as supporting business lines.

Since its inception, Pelita Air has appeared with Medium Service services, namely that customers can fly through Terminal 3 of Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta, which is usually only filled with premium airlines.

As part of a subsidiary of PT Pertamina (Persero) which is a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN), he continued, Pelita Air's commitment to expand its wings on domestic routes is also a form of company commitment and synergy to contribute to supporting equal distribution of connectivity in Indonesia.
