Train Tickets For Lebaran Baru Homecoming Sold 36.3 Percent, There Are Still Many Left

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that long-distance train tickets during the Lebaran 2023 homecoming period have been sold as much as 36.3 percent per day. The tickets sold are for train departures in the period 12 to 3 May 2023.

VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said the tickets that had been sold were 975,711 tickets or 36.3 percent of the total tickets provided were 2,690,637 tickets.

"The number will still increase, because sales are still ongoing," he said in a statement, Wednesday, March 22.

Joni revealed that the period before Lebaran was dominated by passengers from the West (Jakarta or Bandung) towards the East (Central Java and East Java).

"For the period after Lebaran, passengers from the East (Central Java or East Java) are dominated towards the West (Jakarta or Bandung)," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the date of departure, the favorite trains were ordered, including April 20, 2023 as much as 63 percent; April 21, 2023 as much as 60 percent and April 26, 2023 as much as 54 percent.

"If the desired ticket runs out, the customer can select an alternative date or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining a connecting train schedule," he said.

The top 10 train trips that are included in the occupancy that have been ordered include the Airlangga train (Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasarturi PP) 100 percent; Ka Kahuripan (Kiaracondong-Blitar PP), 100 percent; KA Sri Tanjung (Lempuyangan-Ketapang PP) 100 percent. KA Bengawan (Pasar Senen-Purwosari PP), 100 percent; KA Pasundan Supplementary (Kiaracondong - Surabaya Gubeng pp), 100 percent.

Then, the Probowangi Train (Surabaya Gubeng-Ketapang pp) 75.50 percent; Serayu train (Pasar Senen-Purwokerto pp), 67.71 percent; Dharmawangsa train (Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasarturi pp), 59.00 percent; Pasundan train (Kiaracondong-Surabaya Gubeng pp), 58.60 percent; and KA Rajabasa (Kertapati-Tanjungkarang pp), 61.15 percent.

"KAI hopes that the community can plan their journey well because the train tickets for the Eid Transport period are still quite widely available," he said.
