JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI noted that long-distance train tickets during the Eid 2023 homecoming period had sold 947,086 per day.

The tickets sold were for train departures in the period 12 to 3 May 2023.

VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that 35.3 percent of the total tickets provided were 2,686,430 tickets.

"The number will still increase, because sales are still ongoing," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, March 21.

Joni revealed that the period before Lebaran was dominated by passengers from the West (Jakarta or Bandung) towards the East (Central Java and East Java).

"For the period after Lebaran, passengers from the East (Central Java or East Java) are dominated towards the West (Jakarta or Bandung)," he said.

Meanwhile, based on the date of departure, the favorite trains were ordered, among them on April 20, 2023 as much as 62 percent; April 21, 2023 as much as 58 percent and April 19, 2023 as much as 53 percent.

"If the desired ticket runs out, the customer can select an alternative date or take advantage of the Connecting Train feature in the KAI Access application which will help provide travel options by combining a connecting train schedule," he said.

The top 10 train trips that are included in the occupancy that have been ordered include the Airlangga train (Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasarturi PP) 100 percent; Ka Kahuripan (Kiaracondong-Blitar PP), 100 percent; KA Sri Tanjung (Lempuyangan-Ketapang PP) 100 percent. KA Bengawan (Pasar Senen-Purwosari PP), 100 percent; KA Pasundan Supplementary (Kiaracondong - Surabaya Gubeng pp), 98.21 percent.

Then, KA Probowangi (Surabaya Gubeng-Ketapang pp) 73.51 percent; KA Serayu (Pasar Senen-Purwokerto pp), 66.54 percent; KA Dharmawangsa (Pasar Senen-Surabaya Pasarturi pp), 58.09 percent; KA Pasundan (Kiaracondong-Surabaya Gubeng pp), 57.24 percent; and KA Brantas (Pasar Senen-Blitar pp), 57.23 percent.

"KAI hopes that the community can plan their journey well because the train tickets for the Eid Transport period are still quite widely available," he said.
