JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) appreciates the steps taken by PT Sekar Bumi Tbk (SKBM) which for 50 years has acted as a producer of processed fish in Indonesia.
Marketing Director of the Directorate General of Strengthening Competitiveness for Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) KKP Erwin Dwiyana said, SKBM has become one of the domestic companies that answers the challenges of processing fish in the country.
"If we calculate the absorption of the domestic market, it will be around 13.11 million tons in 2022, while in foreign markets it is only about two million tons. "So, our segmentation already exists and the catalog is indeed very large (at PT Sekar Bumi Tbk.) and this is different from several other companies and I appreciate friends from Sekar Bumi," he said.
Furthermore, said Erwin, his party fully supports Sekar Bumi's efforts to continue to innovate in processed fish products in the future.
"Sekar Bumi telah memberikan pilihan kepada masyarakat, remaja, ibu rumah tangga, teman-teman milenial, untuk memilih dan sequentikan produk fish atau fish itu tidak hanya diumumkan dalam bentuk selengkap fish, tetapi bisa juga dibeli atau diumumkan dengan bentuk-forma lain yang tidak kalah dari kandungan nutruk," ungkapnya.
On the same occasion, the Director of PT Sekar Bumi Tbk. Howard Ken Lukminto said that people need to be encouraged to consume fish and other marine products.
This is because fish consumption will not only have a positive effect on health, but will also be sufficient investment to build or produce a golden generation in 2045.
"We responded by making more choices of processed food products made from fish and other marine products that are easy to serve. This will help the community, especially mothers who generally prepare supplies for their children to school in the morning," he explained.
Regarding the quality of processed fish food products and other marine products produced by the company, Howard guarantees that his party always ensures that the nutrition and nutrition of PT Sekar Bumi products, especially Bumifood, is always maintained.
