JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) plans a corporate action to consolidate its strength as a toll operator through its subsidiary Trans Java Toll. The reason is, the desire of the state-owned BUMN has been approved by the Ministry of PUPR.

Head of the Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT) Danang Parikesit said the Ministry of PUPR had allowed this because it was considered to be able to accelerate the completion of existing projects on the island of Java.

"He (Minister of PUPR) agreed with Jasa Marga to take corporate action. The strategy is from him," Danang told reporters in Jakarta, Monday, March 20.

According to Danang, the corporate action was approved if as long as the loan was used to improve Jasa Marga's capabilities. Especially to complete existing projects.

He also mentioned a number of existing projects that are important for Indonesia's economic growth, such as the Jogja-Solo, Jogja-Bawen, and Patimban toll roads.

"Therefore, it has been approved by the minister and has been signed," he concluded.

Meanwhile, on different occasions, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir revealed that the corporate action that will be carried out by PT Jasa Marga (Persero) is solely to consolidate Jasa Marga's power as a toll road operator.

With this consolidation, said Erick, Jasa Marga has additional capital to be able to develop toll roads that are not yet connected on the island of Java.

"We have additional capital, we can to develop connectivity of several toll roads that have not been connected in Java," he said.

"In Sumatra, right, there is already Hutama Karya, but in Java most Jasa Marga. Well, this corporate action is nothing but the addition of toll roads in Java," he said.

Currently, Jasa Marga's corporate action against its subsidiary Trans Java Toll Road is in preparation for due diligence.
