BPH Migas Target Builds 89 One Price Fuel Distributors This Year

JAKARTA - The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) targets to build as many as 89 one-price fuel distribution points (BBM) throughout Indonesia this year.

Thus, it is hoped that the cumulative total of around 434 points of one-price fuel distribution can be achieved until December 2023.

"BPH Migas needs to ensure the distribution and availability of fuel for the One Price BBM gas station so that it runs smoothly," said Committee BPH Migas Yapit Sapta Putra as quoted on Monday, March 20.

Yapit said limited fossil energy production made Indonesia's energy resistance tend to be vulnerable to adjusting to global economic conditions.

The soaring world oil prices have forced the government to tighten energy trading.

To monitor the condition of energy security, especially in the downstream oil and gas sector, the government mandates BPH Migas to ensure the provision and distribution of fuel in all corners of Indonesia and increase the use of natural gas in the country.

"BPH Migas as an agency that regulates and supervises the provision and distribution of fuel and natural gas transportation is required to ensure the availability and smooth distribution of fuel and natural gas which are vital commodities and control the lives of many people to remote areas of the country without exception," he explained.

Yapit explained, in providing and distributing fuel, it is necessary to ensure the sustainability and development of one Price fuel which aims to realize the availability, ease of access, and affordability of fuel prices, especially in the regions (Front, outermost and underdeveloped (3T).

"The One Price Fuel Program itself has been implemented since 2017 which aims to provide Energy Equity in Indonesia, especially people in the Disadvantaged, Frontier, Outermost areas," concluded Yapit.
