JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno emphasized that food will become an industry in the future.

"Because as long as humans have a stomach and mouth, the food industry will always be attractive and this is the industry of the future," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 20.

According to him, the food industry will always exist. Because humans will continue to need food.

This was conveyed by Sandiaga while attending the AllFood Indonesia exhibition at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Banten. Sandiaga appreciated the innovative exhibition in the culinary field.

"This event is super cool. It's a very slick collaboration. I pray, this is the first year. Next year, we will add one more hall, two halls, three halls, eh, everything will be full for a long time," he said.

Sandiaga hopes that the participating MSME actors can develop their business. Thus, the target of 4.4 million new jobs in 2024 will be achieved.

"Hopefully this will be an opportunity that will not be forgotten for MSMEs and they will advance to class and we hope they can learn too," he hoped.

The Indonesian Ministry of Industry noted that the food and beverage industry grew positively during 2020 to 2022.

In 2022, the industry grew 4.90 percent (year-on-year) and became the biggest contributor to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the non-oil and gas processing industry in 2022, with 38.35 percent.

In 2023, the food and drink industry is projected to grow by around 6.25 percent compared to 2022.
