Repair Of The Bogor-Sukabumi Train Line Takes 3 Months, Minister Of Transportation Budi: The Decree Is Very High

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that the repair of the Bogor-Sukabumi railway line as a whole will take a short time, even up to three months.

This was conveyed by Budi inspecting the Bogor-Sukabumi railway line. As is known, the route was affected by the landslide that occurred on Tuesday, March 14.

"Because this is a landslide with very high flooding, it will take us approximately 3 months to complete recovery or reconstruction," he said in an official statement, Friday, March 17.

Budi admitted that he had conveyed to the Director General of KA Risal Wasal that the repairs should be made in detail by prioritizing safety. "As well as working with KAI, the local government, the community, and related parties so that this can be done quickly," he said.

Furthermore, Budi revealed that repairs had already begun on the downstream rail line which was not affected by landslides and had been carried out in a limited operational trial starting Thursday, March 16.

Meanwhile, Budi said, for the upstream route affected by landslides with the condition of the 25-meter-long hanging rail, efforts are still being made to improve by a joint team from DJKA and PT KAI.

"We have started to operate on a new route. However, I suggest that we do it carefully, the speed is reduced, if necessary the passengers are not maximized," he said.

Based on information from PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, on Thursday, out of a total of 6 train trips, only the first 1 train was canceled to conduct a test crossing without passengers. Meanwhile, starting today on Friday 17 March 2023, none of the Pangrango train trips were canceled.

On this occasion, Budi also reminded that there will be no more housing in the black area around the steep soil.

"Because it will put certain pressure on the land that has the potential to landslide and endanger the occupants of the house," he explained.
