Six BUMN Karya Created Joint Venture Companies Working On IKN Projects

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or Hutama Karya (HK) together with five other State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Karya are working together to establish a joint venture to supply construction needs in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

The other five companies are PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Wijaya Karya (Persero) Tbk, PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) Tbk, PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) and PT Nindya Karya (Persero).

The company was named PT Karya Logistik Nusantara (PT KLN). The formation was carried out on February 10, 2023 and has received approval from the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia Number AHU-011167.AH.01.01 of 2023.

The authorized capital of the joint venture was recorded at Rp340 billion and the issued and paid-up capital of Rp85 billion.

Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya, Tjahjo Purnomo said that in addition to supporting the development of IKN in providing basic construction materials, the company is also focusing on the precast concrete business and trading construction materials.

The presence of PT KLN is expected to implement an IKN development project by providing supply guarantees and quality of construction materials, "explained Tjahjo, in his statement, Thursday, March 16.

Tjahjo conveyed that the plan to move IKN resulted in massive development in the IKN area where there was a very large need for construction materials, especially the need for concrete.

Seeing this opportunity, continued Tjahjo, six BUMN Karya initiated to form a special company, to ensure that basic construction needs were met during the IKN development process.

"With the operation office domiciled in Balikpapan, PT KLN has now started operating and as soon as possible supplies concrete needs to projects at IKN. Through PT KLN, it can also support the company's business activities," he concluded.
