Bulog Target Salurkan 1.2 Million Tons Of SPHP Rice

JAKARTA - Bulog targets to distribute rice through the 1.2 tons Food Supply Stabilization and Price Program (SPHP) in 2023.

Bulog Business Director Febby Novita said Bulog was assigned by the government to maintain food reserves.

"The realization of distribution since January until now is 468 thousand tons and is the highest distribution in similar programs in the last 5 years for the same period," he told the media at the BUMN Ementrian Building, Wednesday, March 15.

The distribution of this rice is carried out through a network of distributors as well as wholesale shops and retailers in traditional markets throughout Indonesia.

He further explained that facing the high price of rice recently, his party was ordered to disburse market operations and send cheap rice throughout Indonesia at a price of 8300 per kg for the Java region.

"This rice cannot be sold at more than Rp9,450 (per KG) price, so we will monitor it together. The rice price is already above Rp10 thousand (per KG). This is Bulog's effort to provide food, especially rice at affordable prices," explained Febby.

Just so you know, the HET of premium rice currently in effect is Rp. 12,800 per kg or Rp. 64,000 per kg in 5 kilograms (KG) packaging which is usually sold in retail. This price applies to zone I.

For this reason, the National Food Agency (Bapanas) asked Perum Bulog and rice milling business actors to strengthen synergies to increase rice absorption during the main harvest season.

"By cooperating with small and medium rice mills, in addition to getting rice absorption to increase the government's rice reserves (CBP), Bulog also supports the sustainability of the rice milling business," said Head of the National Food Agency (NFA) Arief Prasetyo Adi.
