Sandiaga Reveals Number Of F1 Powerboat Tourist Visits Reaching 514,957 People

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) said that there was an increase in tourist movements during the implementation of the Powerboat F1 on Lake Toba, some time ago.

Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno said the movement of tourists at Kualanamu and Silangit airports reached more than 500 thousand.

"F1 Powerboat Lake Toba 2023 was a success, in which there was an increase in passenger movements, with a total of 29,099 passengers in Silangit and 485,858 passengers in Kualanamu," Sandiaga said at The Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno monitored online, Monday, March 13.

Sandiaga said, the room occupancy rate in Balige also reached 100 percent, with the export component of goods and services increasing to 11.44 percent, and transportation and warehousing also increasing to 16.02 percent.

"The results of our survey for accommodation for the implementation of F1 Powerboat, 17 percent chose hotels, 17 percent did not stay overnight, 25 percent used homestay, 12 percent chose to stay glamping in tents, 26 percent at relatives' homes, and three percent chose other alternatives," he said.

Meanwhile, the average accommodation fee per day that has been calculated ranges from Rp. 100,000 to Rp. 1,000,000.

"The majority of visitors stay for two nights with a percentage of 30 percent and those who do not stay or PP (go home) as much as 26.1 percent," said Sandiaga.

Furthermore, said Sandiaga, as many as 60 percent of visitors were satisfied with clean water facilities in the area around the implementation of the Lake Toba F1 and 58.5 percent were satisfied with toilet facilities.

"(A total of) 63.2 percent of visitors consider the attractiveness of local tourism to be very attractive and 52.8 percent of visitors consider the entrance ticket price of F1 Powerboat Lake Toba to be very affordable," he concluded.

Based on the data obtained, Sandiaga said that the total economic impact of the implementation of the F1Powerboat is estimated to reach Rp300 billion with a tourist visit target of up to 25 thousand tourists.
