JAKARTA - The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) supports the business expansion of restaurant business actors from Indonesia abroad through a program called Indonesian Restaurant Fundraising (IndoStar).

The program has now been opened to business actors and is entering the "Open Call" stage.

"We hope that through the IndoStar Program, we can accelerate the increase in the number of Indonesian restaurants abroad, to strengthen Indonesia's culinary storefront known as the Mother of Spices", said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahudin Uno when opening the IndoStar program, quoted from a press release, quoted from Antara, Sunday, March 12.

Sandi said Indonesia must be able to present restaurants with typical Indonesian culinary delights abroad through good imaging and management.

Thus, Indonesia's image can be known through processed foods, spices, and culinary delights by the world community.

The IndoStar was released on Friday (10/3) in a hybrid manner from Hong Kong, attended by 40 participants of the Indonesian Diaspora who are MSME actors in Hong Kong offline, and followed by Indonesian restaurant business actors in other countries online.

In reporting the IndoStar program, Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Rizki Handayani said that one of the problems faced by Indonesian restaurant business actors who want to develop their business is when running their businesses is not visible and bankable.

Some of the factors that influence include the low level of business actors understanding financial literacy and adapting to digital developments for their business development.

"For this reason, the Deputy for Industry and Investment of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy carries out its duties and functions to facilitate guidance and assistance for Indonesian restaurant business actors so that their business can develop through the IndoStar Program," said Rizki.

Director of Financing Access at the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Anggara Hayun Anujuprana, said that the IndoStar will be the first forum for the development of Indonesian restaurant business abroad.

Later, selected business actors will prepare their resources by means of training to mentoring in order to get financing from potential investors.
