The Directorate General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR has completed the construction of Phase I Permanent Residential Development (Huntap) for Post-Earthquake Management in Cianjur, West Java, which occurred at the end of 2022.

The affected community will soon occupy 200 units of Huntap Phase I which is built on an area of 2.4 hectares in Sirnagalih Village, Cilaku District, with the technology of the Healthy Simple Instant Home (RISHA).

The Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, said that his party through the Java II Housing Provision Implementation Center (BP2P) was trying to carry out post-disaster handling as quickly as possible through the construction of Huntap.

"The construction of this Huntap was built with RISHA for three months starting in early December 2022 and can be immediately inhabited by the community in early March 2023. We also want the public to immediately take advantage of this building with their families and have a new spirit of life," said Iwan through a press release, Friday, March 10.

According to Iwan, people affected by the earthquake in Cianjur immediately need a proper place to live. Moreover, many houses were damaged in the category of heavily damaged, especially those in the red zone of the Cugenang fault.

"The PUPR Ministry immediately moved in the field and coordinated with the Cianjur Regency government to record a number of infrastructure and housing for people who were damaged and needed handling. After data collection is carried out, especially houses that are damaged and located on the Cugenang fault route, it will become a red zone and cannot be rebuilt," he said.

The Phase I Huntap Relocation area, named Bumi Sirnawih Damai, uses the RISHA earthquake-resistant house structure, light brick walls and aci plaster. Then, the roof frame of the building uses light steel and a galvalum roof covering.

Meanwhile, the floor uses 60x60 ceramics with UPVC doors and windows, as well as a gypsum ceiling. The building is also equipped with a 900 watt electricity network and a PDAM water network. Environmental roads are also available and concretely cast, equipped with community hall facilities, playgrounds and reforestation as well as mosques.

Meanwhile, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that his party was carrying out the construction of the Phase I Relocation Huntap in accordance with the land provided by the Cianjur Regency Government to relocate affected communities living in the red zone area of the Cugenang fault.

"In accordance with the land provided by the Cianjur Regency Government, the location is around 2.5 Ha and Mande around 30 Ha. This resident originally lived in the red belt zone with a high vulnerability level to earthquakes and landslides. It is very dangerous to stay in the red zone," he said.
