One Unit Per KTP, Electric Motor Subsidy IDR 7 Million Can Be Purchased March 20

The government through the Minister of Industry (Kemenperin) ensures that sales of electric vehicles that receive subsidy assistance, especially electric motors, will be officially released in the middle of this month. He conveyed this information during a press conference in Jakarta today.

"On March 20, this program will be able to run," he said on Monday, March 6.

The Minister of Industry added that the government provided assistance of Rp. 7 million for the sale of electric motorcycles which are expected to sell up to 200,000 units by December 2023. Meanwhile, for electric cars, it is targeted to provide assistance as many as 35,900 units.

"Meanwhile, for buses, we propose 138 units," he said.

The Minister of Industry added that people can only buy this subsidized electric vehicle once. The reason is, the purchase will refer to the Population Identification Number (NIK) to ensure equal distribution of opportunities and also the effectiveness of the program.

"We are very confident that the system (purchase with NIK) is ready," he said
