Adhi Karya Says Jabodebek LRT Will Operate June 2023

JAKARTA - PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk (ADHI) targets the Jabodebek light rail transit (LRT) to operate for the first time in June 2023.

President Director of Adhi Karya Entus Asnawi Mukhson said that the progress of the Jabodebek LRT project itself has now reached 95 percent.

"LRT is a mass transportation that we build together and God willing, hopefully later on June 12 (LRT Jabodebek) it will be operational," said Adhi Karya President Director Entus Asnawi Mukhson quoting Antara, Wednesday, March 1.

He said that currently the LRT train is undergoing a train testing program between the physical, track, signal, and system.

"It is hoped that by the end of April as many as 27 train sets or train sets will be able to all operate and we will hand over to PT KAI," he said.

Previously, Deputy Chairman of Commission VI DPR RI Martin Manurung reminded Light Rail Transit (LRT) that connecting several cities including Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi (Jabodebek) must be able to be connected to various modes of transportation around the area.

According to him, the LRT will cross the Jakarta to Depok and Bekasi areas where the transportation facilities owned are different in each city such as angkot, Trans Jakarta, and other transportation.

The integrated connection effort is in order for the Jabodebek LRT to be the same as the LRT abroad, where passengers do not have to bother buying different tickets.

Not only that, the safety of the Jabodebek LRT must be the most important aspect so that public trust in national public transportation is getting better.

Of course, if the Jabodebek LRT is successful, this will reduce congestion and congestion levels in the Jakarta area and its surroundings.
