YOGYAKARTA – Several officials from the Ministry of Finance have received scrutiny from the public because of their ownership of big motorbikes (Moge). Even several officials from the Ministry of Finance who own big motorbikes are members of the Blasting Rijder DGT club.

The attention that was received by the motorbike club which was formed by employees of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Taxation then led to its disbandment by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani. According to her, the hobbies and lifestyle of the Ministry of Finance officials provoked negative sentiment from the public and raised suspicions regarding the source of wealth owned by tax officials.

Ministry of Finance Officials Who Own Big Motorbikes

Apart from the lifestyle of tax officials with their motorbikes, here is several Ministry of Finance officials who have motorbikes quoted from various sources.

     1. Minister Sri Mulyani

It turned out that the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani was recorded as having a motorbike in the form of the Honda Rebel CMX500 in 2019. This luxury vehicle was recorded in the 2021 LHKPN. It is estimated that the price of Sri Mulyani's motorbike is around IDR 145 million. However, on the official Honda Big Bike website, the price for the Honda Rebel CMX500 motorbike is set at IDR 199,838,000.

     2. Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo

Suryo Utomo, who serves as Director General of Taxes, owns large vehicles in the form of a Harley Davidson Sportster in 2003 and a Kawasaki ER6 in 2019. These vehicles are listed in the 2021 LHKPN. The prices for Suryo Utomo's motorbikes are IDR 155 million and IDR 52 million, respectively.

      3. Director of International Taxation of DGT Mekar Satria Utama

The name Mekar Satria Utama is recorded as owning the Honda Rebel CMX500AH IN MT in 2018. The price for this motorbike is approximately IDR 120 million. Meanwhile, Mekar Satria Utama's total wealth was recorded at IDR 6.4 billion.

      4. DGT Law Enforcement Director Eka Sila Kusna Jaya

There are two motorbikes owned by Eka Sila Kusna Jaya which are reported in the 2021 LHKPN, namely the 2016 Royal Enfield Bullet classic which is estimated to cost IDR 55 million, and the 2017 Kawasaki ER650H worth IDR 60 million. Meanwhile, Sila Kusna's total wealth was recorded at IDR 4.16 billion.

     5. Secretary of the Directorate General of Taxes Peni Hirjanto

Peni Hirjanto is recorded as having a motorbike worth IDR 158 million with the Rebel CMX 500 Naked Bike brand in 2019. The LHKPN says that the motorbike came from his own production.

     6. Inspector General of the Ministry of Finance Awan Nurmawan Nuh

Awan Nurmawan Nuh is recorded as having a Honda brand vehicle worth IDR 130 million with the 2018 Honda Rebel CMX500 type. This vehicle is listed in the 2021 LHKPN. In addition, he also has a 2013 Kawasaki Z900 with a value of IDR 110 million.

     7. Head of Regional Office of DGT Large Taxpayer Arif Yanuar

Arif Yanuar is recorded as having a large vehicle with a price of hundreds of millions of rupiah which is recorded in the LHKPN, namely the Harley Davidson XL 883 N 2013. The vehicle has a price of IDR 275 million.

     8. Director of Business Process Transformation DGT Ministry of Finance Imam Arifin

Imam Arifin is noted to have a motorbike with the Honda Rebel 2019 brand. The price of this vehicle is also quite high, namely IDR 120 million.

      9. Director of Tax Regulations I, Hestu Yoga Saksama

The type of motorbike owned by Hestu Yoga Saksama is the same as that of Awan Nurmawan Nuh, namely the Honda Rebel CMX500 2018 with a price of IDR 130 million. This big motorbike belongs to the 500cc class. Hestu himself is recorded as having a total wealth of IDR 9.2 billion.
