JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) said it would digitize the smart fishery village system or Smart Fisheries Village. later it will be built in Poka village, Ambon City, Maluku.

Head of the Marine and Fisheries Research and Human Resources Agency (BRSDMKP) I Nyoman Radiarta said, in terms of digitizing the system, the KKP received full support from the Ambon City Government.

"We will try to synergize with BUMN, BUMD, and BUMDES, so that we can implement the digitization of the Smart Fisheries Village system into the village," he said, quoting Antara, Saturday, February 25.

He mentioned that one application that had been developed by the State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) PT Telkom, namely the Village Simpel, could be a pilot to develop Smart Fisheries Village digitization in Poka Village itself.

"Take an example of the village Simpel application, so with this application it can make it easier for all village officials and rural communities to communicate in terms of developing business units and cultivation," he said.

According to him, in addition to advancing the economic side of the local community, it is also necessary to understand the digitization system in order to facilitate the process in the development of the Smart Fisheries Village itself.

Radiarta hopes that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the KKP and the Ambon City Government of all Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) below it to the village level can help develop the Smart Fisheries Village itself.

"We cannot walk alone, therefore I hope that even though we can help this program," he said.

Previously, the Ambon City Government and the KKP had signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the plan to develop a smart fishery village or Smart Fisheries Village in the Poka area, Ambon City.

According to PJ Mayor of Ambon Bodewin Wattimena, Poka village itself has a strategic location and marine products that have high economic value if the Smart Fisheries Village plan is implemented.
