JAKARTA Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani stated that she would continue to uphold the commitment to discipline in the agencies she leads.

He conveyed this firmness following the case that involved high-tax employees on behalf of Rafael Alun Trisambodo (RAT), causing negative excesses to the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu).

"I understand the disappointment and anger of the public towards the actions of the Ministry of Finance or the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) who betrayed public trust," he said in a written statement on Friday, February 24.

The Minister of Finance revealed that corrective actions were continuously carried out consistently and decisively.

"People's trust should not be harmed and betrayed, we take care of it seriously and without compromise," he said.

The Minister of Finance added that his party was grateful to the people who obeyed in paying taxes according to the law. According to the state treasurer, taxes and APBN are the foundation and pillars of the state to build Indonesia.

"We appreciate and continue to expect the support of the community to participate in maintaining and supervising the Ministry of Finance," he said.

In order to achieve this goal, the state treasurer hopes for the active role of the public as a government partner.

"People can convey information about complaints, fraud, abuse of authority at the Ministry of Finance through our complaint services," he said.

As previously reported, the RAT issue arose after his son was named a suspect in the alleged abuse of youth from the Ansor GP family.

RAT itself continues to be in the spotlight in terms of property ownership because it has assets that are classified as jumbo for someone with the civil servant profession (PNS).

In fact, RAT has more assets than the Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo who is his boss at the Ministry of Finance.

Most recently, on Friday evening, February 24, 2023 circulated on social media a letter of resignation as a civil servant signed directly by RAT on stamp duty. This decision was relatively fast after Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani declared the removal of the RAT position on Friday morning.
