JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said the government would facilitate more business actors in order to develop their business and seize opportunities in the export market.

This was conveyed by Zulkifli in an audience with representatives of six local Muslim fashion brands who will hold an exhibition at the L'adresse Trade Showroom at Paris Fashion Week (PFW) 2023 on March 3-6 2023 in Paris, France.

"The designers from six brands who will attend the L'adresse Trade Showroom at PFW 2023 are expected to enrich their knowledge of the trend of demand in the global market. This will certainly make it easier for business actors to enter the export market," Zulkifli said in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Friday 24 February.

The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Paris and Tokopedia will bring IKYK, Artkea, KEA, Bribe and Ice, BLP Beauty, and Jewel Rocks at the L'adresse Trade Showroom.

Arvi Sardadi as the representative from Artkea said he appreciated the support from the Ministry of Trade and all relevant parties who had facilitated the six brands to take part in the exhibition.

"Our participation in this exhibition is expected to show buyers in the global market that Indonesia has superior product quality and design and is not inferior to brands abroad," said Arvi.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar said in a written statement that market penetration to France must be carried out by adjusting French market tastes as a center for world fashion so that more Indonesian products, especially fashion products, enter the French market.

"The Indonesian Embassy in Paris is fully committed to continuing to support Indonesia's creative works into the French market, especially through the official L'adresse Trade Showroom platform at Paris Fashion Week (PFW) 2023. This effort began in early 2022, and will continue for years to come," he said.

The exhibition activity at PFW is a follow-up to the Jakarta Muslim Fashion Week (JMFW) activity initiated by the Ministry of Trade. The goal is to promote the superiority of Indonesian Muslim clothing and its derivative industry to the export market.

In 2023, JMFW will focus on promoting Muslim fashion products and their derivatives in three international fashion events, namely New York Fashion Week, Ladresse Trade Showroom at Paris Fashion Week, and London Fashion Week.

In addition to the L'adresse Trade Showroom at PFW, previously the Ministry of Trade together with seven Indonesian brands successfully held a fashion show Indonesia Now at New York Fashion Week. This event was held on Monday 13 February in New York, United States. The seven brands, namely Buttonscarves, KAMAM., AM by Anggiasari, Ayu Dyah Andari X BT Batik Trusmi, Zeta Privre, totaling Hartono, and Nada Puspita.

Meanwhile, in 2022 JMFW successfully held a fashion and exhibition show featuring 144 designers and more than 1000 collections of Indonesian fashion and accessories products. At the event, there were trade transactions and business commitments between buyers and business actors worth IDR 206.6 billion.
