DPR: IKN Nusantara Is A New Era Of Indonesian Development

Member of Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Subardi, revealed that the Nusantara State Capital (IKN) development project is a new era for Indonesia's development.

"The transfer of IKN is a new era for our country. Era of economic transformation, equitable distribution of development, technology growth and development that is central Indonesia," said Subardi in his statement, quoted from Antara, Monday, February 13.

The move to IKN continues to be accelerated, after the country's strategic project has a legal umbrella through Law Number 3 of 2022 concerning IKN Nusantara.

Through this law, the President has established the IKN Authority as a ministry-level institution that makes preparations, development and relocation of the nation's capital.

"The DPR has passed the IKN Law and gives the executive the authority to carry out the law's orders. Likewise with the construction that will be managed by SOEs. So far the preparations have been smooth," said Subardi.

The government plans to hold a ceremony for the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day in 2024 at IKN Nusantara. The celebration of the Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day at IKN was the beginning of the movement of the capital city from Jakarta to East Kalimantan.

Seeing the government's plan, Subardi invited all parties to support the development of IKN as a new era for the Indonesian nation.

The transfer of IKN from Jakarta to Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan aims to balance development. The presence of IKN will cut the gap in development between regions in Indonesia.

The concept of Future Smart Forest City or a green smart city will make IKN a new symbol of Indonesia as a country rich in natural resources, environmentally friendly, green energy use, and modern urban planning.

With the movement of the capital, Indonesia will follow in the footsteps of modern countries, such as the United States, Russia, Australia, Turkey, and other countries. The country has succeeded in moving the capital city which currently has a separate capital, a central city of business and a central city of government. The central division of government and business centers has brought the country more advanced.
