JAKARTA - The issue of using the headscarf for Garuda flight attendants is still reaping pros and cons. Garuda Indonesia in principle does not prohibit the use of the headscarf for flight attendants.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, said that his party has the same values and vision for input from various parties regarding the uniform attributes of flight crews, especially regarding the use of headscarves for flight attendants.

"Not only reviewed from the interests of service and safety aspects, but especially to ensure the maintenance of the interests of flight attendants as individuals who choose the option of wearing the headscarf in their readiness as the front line of Garuda Indonesia flight services which is engaged in the full service flight segment," he continued.

Irfan added that his party is still conducting a prudential and comprehensive study on the adjustment of the flight crew uniform attribute policy, both from operational aspects and other supporting aspects to the interests of the flight crew profession.

"Currently, Garuda Indonesia continues to establish intensive communication with various relevant stakeholders to ensure the readiness to use the headscarf for Garuda Indonesia flight attendants, which can be based on comprehensive operational policies," he said.
