OJK Desak The Owner Of WanaArtha Life Back To Indonesia For Responsibility

The Financial Services Authority (OJK) urges the owner of PT Asuransi Jiwa Adisarana Wanaartha (WanaArtha Life) abroad to immediately return to Indonesia to account for the problems that are currently befalling the insurance company.

"OJK asks the owner of Wanaartha to return to Indonesia to be responsible for the Wanaartha Life problem," said Ogi Prastomiyono, Chief Executive of Non-Bank Financial Industry Supervision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in a virtual press conference in Jakarta, some time ago.

Ogi said that his party would appreciate the legal process being carried out by the Indonesian National Police which has named seven people as suspects in the Wanaartha Life case.

In this regard, including the controlling shareholder and his family who are suspected of committing a criminal act on behalf of Evelina Fadil Pietruschka,

"OJK encourages the police to confiscate PSP's assets to pay obligations to policyholders," he said.

In addition, continued Ogi, his party will impose sanctions for Public Accountants, Public Accounting Offices, appointed actuaries and Actuarial Consultants who have provided services to Wanaartha Life.

"This supporting service industry causes embezzlement steps, so that losses to customers occur," he concluded.

For your information, the Wanaartha Life case has harmed customers because it suffered defaults of up to IDR 15 trillion. The majority shareholder of Wanaartha Life, Evelina F. Pietruschka, happened to be F. Pietruschka, Rezanta F. Pietruschka is currently still in DPO status (People's Search List).

Law enforcement officials are trying to trace the flow of Wanaartha Life customer funds. The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police is also known to be pursuing assets worth IDR 1.4 trillion owned by the youngest son of Wanaartha Life, who is said to be abroad.
