JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) through the Industrial Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDMI) collaborated with PT Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia (TMMIN) at the launch of the Vocational Education Center for the Excellence of the Automotive Industry on the island of Java, which is located at SMK-SMTI Yogyakarta as the vocational education unit belonging to the Ministry of Industry.

This activity is part of the implementation of the link and match program between SMK and industry through improving teacher skills and CSR programs in developing vocational education related to the Augmented Reality learning method and technology-based animation.

"To support the creation of quality industrial workers, the Ministry of Industry organizes vocational education in nine vocational units of SMK, 13 polytechnics and community academies, as well as seven industrial training centers spread from Aceh to Morowali," said Head of the BPSDMI Industrial Vocational Education Development Center at the Ministry of Industry Restu Yuni Widayati in a press release, Friday, February 3.

"The quality of education and training is adjusted to the needs of the industry, and follows the industrial era 4.0," he continued.

In the program, 10 pilot vocational schools were selected as electrification vocational centers for the automotive industry, each of which was given 10 tab units by PT TMMIN as an Augmented Reality device.

"Electrification technology materials accessed in learning media are made more attractive in the form of complete electrification vehicle technology animations, including the basis for knowledge of multi-path technology, discussion of key elements of electrified vehicles such as machines, transaxles, batteries, power control units (PCU), and also electric motors," explained Restu.

Meanwhile, the Director of External Relations of PT TMMIN Bob Azam said that his party would continue to support the government in developing the electric vehicle industry ecosystem in the country.

"After holding a series of national seminars with the theme of complete electrification technology for the academic community in a number of universities in Indonesia, this time we provide real support to the government, by strengthening the competence of Vocational HR as a Center of Excellence which is an important element in responding to economic and industrial challenges, especially when entering the era of electrification," he concluded.
