JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) reported the performance of the ESDM sector in 2022.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif revealed that the realization of investment in the ESDM sector in 2022 reached 26.8 billion US dollars or only 86 percent of the 2022 target.
This realization is lower than the initial 2022 investment target of 31.0 billion US dollars.
"The realization of investment in 2022 is lower than the 2023 target," he said at a press conference at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Monday, January 30.
He continued, the factor causing the low realization of investment in 2022 was due to stagnation because several investment activities in the oil and gas sector had not yet started.
"In the oil and gas sector, there is a stagnation because some oil and gas investment activities have not been implemented, so we hope to recover this year," added Arifin.
He detailed that the realization of the highest investment in 2022 was contributed by the oil and gas sector amounting to 13.9 billion dollars, the electricity sector 5.8 billion dollars, the mineral and coal sector 5.6 billion dollars and the new renewable energy sector (EBT) of 1.6 billion dollars.
"The factors that provide positive realization are the mineral and coal sectors because of the large number of investment activities in the smelter sector," said Arifin.
Meanwhile, for 2023, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is targeting investment realization of 33.5 billion US dollars, with details of the oil and gas sector of 17.4 billion dollars, the mineral and coal sector of 7.7 billion dollars, the electricity sector of 6.6 billion dollars and the EBT sector of 1.8 billion US dollars.
