JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) will allocate funds of IDR 2 trillion to build 5,379 flats (Rusun) this year.

The many allocations include the continued construction of construction workers' residences in the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago, East Kalimantan.

"(Development) of flats totaled Rp2.002 trillion for the construction of 5,379 units," said Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR Iwan Suprijanto in a hearing meeting with Commission V DPR RI monitored online, Wednesday, January 25.

Iwan explained that this includes the multi year contract (MYC) budget allocation for 2022-2023 OPOR activities as many as 59 towers and the continued occupancy of construction workers at IKN Nusantara as many as 22 towers, consisting of 1,040 units.

Not only flats, the Ministry of PUPR will also build 3,362 special houses (Rusus) worth IDR 0.89 trillion.

The Rusus to be built, namely for communities affected by natural disasters and social conflicts, such as in Central Sulawesi, South Minahasa, Kupang Regency, Sampang Regency and Lebak Regency, including the implementation of 360 units of OPOR activities and the construction of official houses in IKN in multi years contract 2022-2024.
