Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport Managers Don't Apply Special Screening For Passengers From China

JAKARTA - The manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, and all relevant stakeholders have not imposed special screening or screening for airplane passengers from China or China arriving on the Island of the Gods.

"We discussed directly with the ranks of the Port Health Office (KKP) here as soon as we got the information (the arrival of passengers from China to Bali). And here there is no special treatment," said General Manager of PT. Angkasa Pura I Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Handy Heryudhitiawan, quoted from Antara, Monday, January 23.

On Sunday, January 22, as many as 210 passengers from China with Lion Air charter flights with flight numbers JT2648 arrived at Bali Airport.

The charter flight has been the first flight from China to Bali since the Chinese government allowed its citizens to travel abroad since January 8.

Handy Heryudhitiawan said that his party implemented the same procedure, including in the health screening process for airplane passengers arriving at Bali from all countries including China.

"All treatment, all treatment is the same from all international passengers who enter Bali," he said.

The screening procedures that must be carried out by all international flight passengers arriving at Bali Airport include body temperature checks with a thermo scanner installed at the arrival terminal and supervised by KKP officers.

Later, if passengers are found whose body temperature is above 37.5 degrees Celsius if an antigen test is needed for passengers, the test procedure will be carried out which if necessary, is followed by a PCR test according to the Denpasar Class I KKP policy.

In addition, all international passengers must also have carried out a complete COVID-19 vaccination and evidenced by a vaccination certificate.

KKP health officers will also conduct profiling if they find that passengers who look unsuitable will be separated from other passengers arriving in Bali for further inspection.

"So far, as long as we have discussed with the KKP, everything has not been found, everything has been fulfilled. Everything can be met. It can meet the requirements to enter Indonesia because the COVID-19 condition in several countries is also our attention. But by looking at the conditions of herd immunity and vaccination achievements in Indonesia, God willing, we are strong," added Handy Heryudhitiawan.
