PT PGN Tbk, as Pertamina's Gas Subholding, will realize the construction of a household gas network or gas network in Jambi City in 2023.

PGN's Director of Infrastructure and Technology Achmad Mustahsyar in his statement in Jakarta, Friday, January 13, said the potential for jargas customers in Jambi City is around 15,000 house connections (SR).

"It is hoped that this jargas development program can also target the commercial sector such as MSMEs, restaurants, and hotels, so that the optimal benefits of natural gas can be felt by the community and the business world," he said, quoted from Antara.

Deputy Mayor of Jambi H Maulana expressed his appreciation for the construction of gas lines in his area.

"Some time ago I met PGN to discuss the construction of gas stations in Jambi City and today the Director of Infrastructure and Technology PGN Achmad Mustahsyar is here to follow up on the plan," said Deputy Mayor of Jambi H Maulana during an audience with PGN at the Jambi Mayor's Office, Thursday 12 January

He said the people of Jambi had hoped to get a gas connection soon.

Maulana also conveyed that her party fully supports licensing, coordination with the central government, regional levels one or other related parties, including the provision of infrastructure land, MRS, and others.

"We are ready to support this program and in 2023 it has started to be implemented. Hopefully, the community will get great benefits from the implementation of this program," he added.

There are 11 sub-districts that have been filled with jargas in Jambi City, including Jelutung, Kota Baru, Alam Barajo, Telanipura, and Lake Sipin.

The construction of this jargas will complement the city gas (city gas) program from the central government.

Achmad also said that in 2023, his party plans to increase gas lines in Jambi City with priority through PGN's internal investment funds. Although, PGN Group also carries out gas network development with the APBN.

"In January 2023, we will follow up with our plans in the future to manage or develop gas lines. We are currently preparing a timeline for the implementation of gas network development in Jambi City. We will implement it immediately in 2023, according to what was previously announced," he said.

The construction and management of gas lines in Jambi City will be carried out by PGN Palembang Area. Currently, there are 10,506 active customers, with gas supply sources from JOB Pertamina-Talisman Jambi.

For the realization of future development expansion, he continued, PGN Palembang Area will continue to carry out surveys to prospective customers.

Achmad hopes that the growth in the use of jargas in Jambi City can also have an impact on expanding the use of natural gas in the MSME, commercial, and industrial sectors.

"Thus, it can help the local community's economy. The excess of natural gas is more efficient than other fuels, so it can save production costs and encourage competitiveness," he said.
