JAKARTA - PT Amartha Micro Fintek (Amartha) cumulatively reported that until December 31, 2022, it had distributed business capital worth more than Rp. 10 trillion. This business capital is channeled to more than 1.4 million ultra micro business actors spread throughout Amartha's operational area.

With this amount of distribution, Amartha also managed to maintain loan quality with stable NPL (non-performing loan) below 0.5 percent.

"Amartha is grateful for the achievement of distribution of 10 trillion rupiah in capital to more than 1.4 million ultra micro business actors in Indonesia. This achievement is the result of strategic collaboration with various stakeholders, ranging from banking to embedded finance cooperation with technology platforms such as eFishery," said Founder and CEO Amartha Andi Taufan Garuda Putra in an official statement, quoted on Tuesday, January 10.

He added that Amartha's performance in 2022 was recorded to have grown significantly and was profitable. More than IDR 4.7 trillion was successfully distributed throughout 2022, or grew 93 percent (YoY) or almost 2 times from the previous IDR 2.4 trillion. This capital distribution is dominated by funding support from 24 banking partners with a total distribution of around three trillion or 60 percent more than the total source of funds.

Taufan said, amid the recession and weakening of the global economy in 2023, Amartha as an inclusive financial technology company actually saw the potential to support the grassroots economy and accelerate post-pandemic recovery.

"The macroeconomic challenge may have a significant impact on various large-scale business sectors. However, the MSME sector actually has strong resilience amid global economic challenges," he explained.

Based on the 2021 Sustainability Report report, MSME partner Amartha managed to increase revenue by 37.5 percent, much greater than the inflation rate in 2022 which ranged from five percent.

"With this increase in income, MSME partner Amartha has strong enough resilience in dealing with economic turmoil. However, intervention from various parties is still needed to strengthen MSMEs, starting from providing access to business capital, education on financial and digital literacy, and business assistance programs," concluded Taufan.
