Malaysian Prime Minister Berjp Is Determined To Solve The Issue Of TKI

JAKARTA - Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Sri Anwar Ibrahim promised to solve problems regarding Indonesian Workers (TKI) who work in Malaysia. According to him, the problem regarding migrant workers is of course very detrimental to the feelings of the Indonesian nation and he promised to solve this problem by taking sides with the principles of justice and humanity.

"Regarding this TKI, my establishment has been consistent for a long time and I will definitely finish it," he said at the CT Corp Leadership Forum, Monday, January 9.

Anwar said the first thing he would fix was the worker selection system. He will also prohibit labor distribution agents who suppress and take too much profit from migrants.

"We must not allow the system with agents who reach wealth too high and harm the people," Anwar continued.

Anwar continued, the agency system that harms workers must be changed not only in Indonesia and Malaysia but also in other countries such as Bangladesh because it is considered like modern slavery.

"This is like modern slavery. Look for other businesses if you want profit but don't trade in humans," he added.

He said, in his meeting with President Joko Widodo, a solution had been put forward, namely digitization so that there would be no more inequality in the distribution of results between labor and migrant workers agents.

"I give this guarantee to the president. I say the president must visit Malaysia as soon as possible and I will make sure the president, June, so I make sure it can be completed before the president arrives," he concluded.
