The Ministry of Manpower (Kemnaker) emphasized that there will be no abolition of the two-day holiday rights in a week for workers in the Regulation on the Substitute to the Law (Perppu) on Job Creation.

The Director General of PHI Jamsos Indah Anggoro Putri explained that Perppu still ensures that companies and workers have rest time.

"It is said that this Perppu abolishes the rest period or the holiday is a hoax, not true," said Indah at a press conference, Friday, January 6.

However, continued Indah, holiday time arrangements depend on company regulations and collective work agreements that have been agreed upon by employers and workers.

Indah said, Indonesia as a member of the International Labor Organization (ILO) fulfills the principle of working time, namely maximum working time for workers is 40 hours per week.

"It depends on the agreement of the company and workers. The important thing is that we arrange 6 working days, 1 holiday. If it's 5 working days, the workers have the right to get 2 days to rest," he explained.

For your information, Article 77 of the Employment Cluster of the Job Creation Perppu states working time for workers/laborers includes:

a. 7 (seven) hours 1 (one) days and 40 (fourty) hours 1 (one) weeks for 6 (six) working days in 1 (one) week, or

b. 8 (eight) hours 1 (one) days and 40 (fourty) hours 1 (one) weeks for 5 (five) working days in 1 (one) week.
