JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) through the West Java Development Main Unit (UIP JBB) reported having completed 27 national strategic projects during 2022.

General Manager of PLN UIP JBB, Octavianus Padudung explained, this project includes 14 substations with a total capacity of 840 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA), 12 transmission networks with a length of 102.65 kilometers circuit (kms), and 1 generator of 315 MegaWatt (MW) which will strengthen the electricity system in the areas of DKI Jakarta, Banten and West Java.

General Manager of PLN UIP JBB, Octavianus Padudung said, these 27 electricity infrastructure projects are national strategic projects that will improve the quality of electricity network services and reliability to minimize disturbances.

"This development of electricity infrastructure is PLN's commitment to providing reliable electricity and supporting the recovery of the economic and business sectors which are starting to revive post-COVID-19 pandemic," said Padudung in an official statement, Thursday, January 5.

For example, the Lontar Steam Power Plant (PLTU) located in Lontar Village, Tangerang Regency, Banten which uses Supercritical Boller technology, which aims to increase generating efficiency.

"This Lontar Extension PLTU itself will increase the power capacity by 315 MW to supply electricity needs in the DKI Jakarta, Banten, and surrounding areas," he continued.

Padudung explained, in the implementation of the development of PLN UIP JBB, there were a number of challenges such as locations, some of which were in the midst of densely populated urban areas.

However, PLN UIP JBB succeeded and worked extra carefully in order not to interfere with community mobility.

In addition, there are also projects that are carried out in quite remote areas, so access to materials to the location is also a challenge in itself.

Padudung expressed his gratitude to all parties involved so that PLN can provide the best service to customers with reliable electricity supply.

"Realizing the best and reliable electricity is not only the task of PLN, but also a good synergy is needed from all parties because electricity needs are growing and cannot be delayed," said Padudung.
