YOGYAKARTA - Finally, the people can smile again in early 2023. The reason is, the Government through PT Pertamina (Persero) has adjusted the price of non-subsidized fuel oil (BBM). For gasoline (gasoline) products, Pertamax (RON 92) is adjusted to Rp12,800 per liter, from the previous Rp13,900. Then why is the price of non-subsidized bbm different?

Pertamax Turbo (RON 98), was re-adjusted to IDR 14,050 per liter. The price has fallen from the previous IDR 15,200 since the last price adjustment was carried out on December 1, 2022.

Then for gasoil (diesel) type products is Dexlite (CN 51), adjusted to Rp16,150 per liter. Down from the previous Rp18,300. Although Pertamina Dex (CN 53) experienced a adjustment to Rp16,750 per liter from the previous Rp18,800.

This new price applies to provinces with a motor vehicle fuel tax (PBBKB) of 5 percent such as in the DKI Jakarta area. So the question is why is the price of non-subsidized bbm different in each region?

As reported by VOI from mypertamina.id, price differences occur because fuel transportation rates to each place are different. The transportation rate is borne by buyers so that the location of the oil refinery is further away, the higher the price of non-subsidized fuel will be.
