The National Police Expenditures IDR 61 Trillion Throughout 2022: Buys Weapons, Disposals To Reconnaissance Cameras

The Ministry of Finance gave an official statement regarding the realization status of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) throughout 2022. This was conveyed directly by the Minister of Finance to reporters earlier this week.

According to the Minister of Finance, the total expenditure carried out by the institution led by General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reached IDR 61.4 trillion. This figure consists of two things. First, spending on goods amounted to IDR 31.1 trillion, growing 16.9 percent compared to the 2021 period which amounted to IDR 26.6 trillion.

"Buying goods is one of the most dynamic to manage the economy," he said as quoted Wednesday, January 4.

Second, the National Police's capital expenditure will be absorbed by IDR 30.3 trillion throughout 2022, an increase of 14.2 percent from 2021 which amounted to IDR 26.5 trillion. This capital is optimized for the modernization of special materials (almatsus) as well as facilities and infrastructure (sarpras).

"Among other things, it is used to buy land tactical transportation equipment, weapons, ammunition, sensing equipment (supervisory cameras/monitories) and others," he said.

In addition to these two expenditures, the National Police is also known to have spent IDR 52.2 trillion during last year. This value jumped 6.1 percent from 2021 which amounted to IDR 49.2 trillion.

"Employee spending includes payment of salaries, allowances, and 13th salary in order to support a professional, integrated, and productive bureaucracy," he said.

VOI noted that the National Police institution is one of the state institutions that has the function of collecting income for the state. Until the closing of the 2022 book, the National Police is known to have deposited non-tax revenues (PNBP) of IDR 9.4 trillion.

"This is income from the traffic function (lantas), such as the issuance of a driving license (STNK), motor vehicle registration certificate (STNK), to BPKB, TNKB, NRKB, and ticketing," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
