JAKARTA - The capital level of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk or BSI is getting stronger after completing the rights issue process of IDR 5 trillion. In line with the additional capital, BSI realized financing of IDR 207 trillion as of December 31, 2022.

The unudited achievement (unaudited) grew 21 percent on an annual basis (yoy).

Still, in the same period, BSI's third-party fund collection (DPK) grew 12 percent on an annual basis to reach more than Rp261 trillion so that the company's assets have reached more than Rp300 trillion.

"We have just completed a rights issue of Rp. 5 trillion and it is already in place, meaning that the additional capital participation certificate has been signed. Our capital today amounts to around Rp. 34 trillion, yes, it has increased by 37 percent year to date (ytd)," said BSI President Director Hery Gunardi in a statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, January 3.

Hery predicts 2023 will be a difficult year as projections show that the global economy will experience a slowdown and affect the national economic condition.

"The year 2023 is not an easy year to go through, the threat of a global recession, geopolitical tension, and the latest issues will still be so dynamic, and will be full of vigilance," he said.

On that occasion, BSI held an istighosah kubro at the Baitus Salamil Ikram Mosque, the Cipularang KM 88A Toll Road, as a form of the company's gratitude for the achievements that have been achieved during 2022 and hope to be able to get through 2023 better.

He invited all BSI personnel from the center to the area to pray for help and pleasure from Allah SWT in every effort made.

Hery hopes that throughout 2023 BSI will always get protection, convenience, and victory, because the company wants to continue to provide and bring benefits and goodness to Indonesia and the world.

"May Allah SWT protect us all and provide various facilities and victories for all of them, especially Bank Syariah Indonesia, who want to fly higher, bring benefits not only to the people in Indonesia but also to the world," said Hery.
