Announcement Of Pertamax's Latest Selling Prices, Minister Of SOEs: Pertamina Consider Various Aspects

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir admitted that the announcement of the latest selling price of Pertamina's fuel oil (BBM) products was indeed slightly slower than other business entities.

For Erick, this is a natural thing considering that Pertamina as a state-owned company considers various aspects so that it can still ensure the sustainability of the provision and distribution of fuel.

"Pertamina has a wide reach because it has to distribute fuel throughout the country, including subsidized fuel such as Pertalite and Solar subsidies. We want to ensure that supply and distribution continue to run smoothly," Erick told reporters, Tuesday, January 3.

According to Erick, the most important thing right now is to ensure that subsidized fuel is really right on target.

He also continues to oversee Pertamina's collaboration with PT Telkom Indonesia in improving and developing gas station digitization.

With fuel purchase transactions that can be monitored through the command center, Erick said this formula is able to ensure that the distribution of quota and fuel subsidies is more targeted.

Previously reported, Erick Thohir requested that the announcement of non-sunsi oil fuel prices (BBM) in the Pertamax type be announced once a week.

The reason, said Erick, was because Pertamax prices followed market prices.

Erick also admitted that so far he has often been trapped with bureaucracy and it is difficult to adjust market prices.

"So that the Pertamax price in Indonesia can be announced every week. In order to match market prices, we should not be trapped in the bureaucracy, the rules have not been issued," Erick said at the Initial Press Conference in 2023, Monday, January 2.

Erick said, when referring to the ministry's rules, the announcement of the price of Pertamax is made once a month. In fact, Pertamax is a non-monuclear fuel.

Therefore, Erick admitted that he would conduct consultations regarding price adjustments. Consultations are carried out so that no rules are violated.

"Why was it postponed? Because I want to make sure it doesn't violate it. Because later it will be suspected that the Minister of SOEs will just play collisions," he explained.
