JAKARTA - The government is conducting a trial purchase of 3 kilograms of LPG (kg) with an ID card. The Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tutuka Ariadji, emphasized that during the trial period, all registered consumers could purchase subsidized 3 kg LPG.

"There are no restrictions for households and Micro Enterprises to use LPG for cooking," he said in a statement to the media, Saturday, December 31.

Tutuka added, since October 2022 the government has been testing the use of the merchant app lite system in the distribution sub in the context of collecting consumer data. Trials were carried out on one sub-district each in Tangerang City, South Tangerang, Batam, Semarang, and Mataram.

In these areas, consumers mention NIK before purchasing subsidized LPG. Consumers that have been recorded in P3KE data can directly transact. Meanwhile, unregistered consumers can fill in data on MAP Lite with the help of bases. This process only needs to be done once and then consumers can transact as usual.

Furthermore, he said, there were several stages in the transformation of 3 kg LPG subsidies on target. However, the most crucial stage is consumer data collection. The reference used is the Monitoring of the Acceleration of the Elimination of Extreme Poverty (P3KE) data.

"We are testing P3KE data because we see that the P3KE data source is more historic. P3KE is the source of BKKBN data and is always updated so that the expectations are more accurate," he explained. the government will collect data so that the distribution of subsidized 3 kg LPG can be enjoyed by people who are entitled or on target.

Another effort made by the Government is to ask Pertamina to increase supervision in the field from agent level to base. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources has sent a letter regarding this matter. "We have received a letter from the Minister to Pertamina to pay attention to the supervision, to consumers," said Tutuka.

Pertamina's follow-up must be done by adding a channeling sub. In the future, there will be no more retailers because people immediately buy 3 kg LPG to the channeling sub. So that consumer data is accurate, later the information system will be used, there will be no more manual recording.

"The recording uses an information system, it is not manual. So if the sub-distributor can be right on target, we can say the system is better because it reaches consumers directly," concluded the Director General of Oil and Gas.
