JAKARTA The Head of the Sub-Directorate for Public Relations and Customs Counseling, Hatta Wardhana, said that synergy between agencies is important in state administration. According to him, this can create a harmonious balance and produce something optimal for the benefit of society and the state.

"Therefore, we make it happen by carrying out supervisory tasks that involve other law enforcement officers, such as the National Police and the TNI, especially in the context of monitoring importation of basic commodities," he said in a press release quoted Wednesday, December 28.

Hatta added that the activity in question was carried out by the Tanjung Emas Customs and the Central Java Regional Police and several related elements to ensure the availability of supplies towards the end of 2023.

"We also monitor basic materials ahead of Eid to anticipate scarcity in the community. After checking, we make sure the availability of basic commodities is still monitored safely," he said.

Furthermore, Hatta explained that the Customs and Excise staff implemented the same thing in maintaining the waters of North Kalimantan. This is reflected in marine patrol operations whose implementation is coordinated by the Regional Office of Customs and Excise of East Kalimantan (Kalbagtim), Dit. Polair Polda Kaltara, and Lantamal XIII Tarakan.

"In the midst of world economic conditions and international trade which is full of challenges, but is increasingly stretched as the COVID-19 pandemic is under control. There are marine patrol operations whose implementation is coordinated and carried out throughout the end of the year," he said.

As with the previous implementation, continued Hatta, this year's marine patrol operation is expected to provide a firm and clear message as a deterrence effect. It was stated that Customs, Police, and TNI wanted to emphasize that any legal violations that would be carried out in the waters of Kaltara would be faced with the synergy of law enforcement officers at sea.

"With various coordinated supervision protection efforts, it is hoped that it can realize common noble goals to maintain national borders and sovereignty, as well as law enforcement tasks by creating order and maritime security," concluded Hatta.
