Labor And Logistics Business Will Still Remain Bright In 2023

"The port and logistics business in 2023 will remain resilient and bright due to various factors in support of it," said President Director of PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik Joko Noerhudha.

"The port business and those related to logistics are quite resilient," said Joko in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, December 28.

Joko said that during the 2020 pandemic, the logistics business only fell by about 10 to 15 percent, but in 2021 it had grown by about five percent. For this reason, in 2023, without mentioning the figure, Joko is optimistic that the logistics business will survive.

Moreover, he said, Indonesia's demographics are very supportive. Meanwhile, consumption, development, and production have also improved. Meanwhile, the threat of a lack of containers is no longer an obstacle.

"Because there are many more supplies (packages)," he said.

In terms of macroeconomic conditions, said Joko, it also supports port and logistics businesses. The prices of commodities, foreign exchange and the rupiah exchange rate are also good. Good US dollar supply also supports export-import activities.

PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (PSL) is one of four subholding BUMN Port of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero), which was formed after the integration of Pelindo on October 1, 2021.

PSL is engaged in the logistics business cluster and the development of hinterland or industrial areas around the port. PSL currently has hundreds of depots and warehouses that were previously managed by PT Pelindo I-IV and its subsidiaries before the merger.

Currently PSL operates a logistics network and the development of hinterland in more than 40 work areas spread throughout Indonesia and manages six subsidiaries.
