The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is said to have succeeded in showing positive performance throughout 2022 with an increase in non-tax state revenue (PNBP) which has temporarily reached Rp1.79 trillion.

Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said that the score was his own achievement because it was the highest since the KKP was established in 1999.

"We tried with the existing conditions, and did our best. This year the fisheries PNBP increased to Rp1.79 trillion," he said in a written statement quoted on Tuesday, December 27.

Trenggono explained that the provisional PNBP acquisition of IDR 1.79 trillion came from fishery natural resources (SDA) of IDR 1.1 trillion, non-SDA of IDR 611.8 billion, and public service agencies (BLU) of IDR 44.3 billion.

Meanwhile, fishery production volume until the third quarter of 2022 reached 18.45 million tons, consisting of 5.97 million tons of catch, 5.57 tons of aquaculture, and 6.9 million tons of seaweed.

"This year, cultivation villages have also been running in several areas, such as petin cultivation villages, seaweed. In the future, we want to create a modern area-based cultivation area for shrimp commodities," he said.

According to Trenggono, the KKP carries five blue economy programs in managing the marine and fisheries sector in Indonesia.

"We carry out upstream to downstream programs, such as expanding conservation areas, implementing quota-based measurable fishing policies, developing sustainable cultivation, coastal management and small islands, and handling marine debris through the Cinta Laut Month (BCL) program," he said.

Trenggono added that the blue economy program has not all run throughout 2022. For this reason, his party strives for all programs to be implemented next year to encourage the economic growth of the community and the national community, as well as preserve the marine and fisheries ecosystem.

Making a policy and implementing it because it involves the interests of the Indonesian people who are so broad, it is not easy. What we convey and have not implemented is part of the socialization, we are still preparing the process behind it as a clear and clear legal umbrella. In essence, we manage the marine and fisheries sector for the welfare of the community," he concluded.
