MIND ID CONTINUES To Support The National Downstreaming Process

JAKARTA - Holding a State-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) for Mining, MIND ID will continue to support the national downstream process accompanied by the implementation of green energy in the business process.

President Director of MIND ID Hendi Prio Santoso in a statement in Jakarta, Sunday, December 25, said that his party encouraged all business operations to produce products that were useful and had added value.

"We jointly mapped and thought about all the production of this mining commodity so that it becomes a downstream product, so that benefits and benefits can be maximized for the Indonesian nation," he said, quoted from Antara.

He ensured that one of the concrete forms of the program in encouraging downstreaming was the construction of the Top Submerge Lance (TSL) Ausmelt Furnace by PT Timah Tbk as an effort to encourage downstream tin minerals.

This effort was made so that downstreaming, which was previously only able to process tin ore concentrate in high levels (>70 percent), could later process tin ore concentrate with low levels starting from 40 percent of Sn.

This technology is also able to reduce production costs so that it can compete more with international tin products, be safer and environmentally friendly because it is equipped with a Hygiene System and Wastewater Treatment.

To support the implementation of green energy, MIND ID through PT Inalum (Persero) has also used hydroelectric power plants (PLTA) as primary energy in all aluminum production processing.

Currently, PT Inalum is also conducting a study for the development of the expansion of the Brownfield Smelter located in Kuala Tanjung, North Sumatra, whose results are expected to duplicate production.

"With the same energy consumption, this smelter technology can produce double capacity per year. This is also a form of reliability and availability of national aluminum needs," he said.

These various innovations are also one of the triggers for MIND ID to get appreciation as 30 companies capable of changing the world according to Fortune magazine (Fortune Indonesia Change The World 2022).
