Support Food Availability In DKI Jakarta, JIEP Prepares 5,000 Tons Of Cold Storage In The Pulogadung Industrial Estate

PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung on Thursday 22 December signed a Head of Agreement with Perumda Dharma Jaya regarding the plan to cooperate in managing cold storage with a capacity of 5,000 tons located on Jalan Pulogadung Raya, Pulogadung Industrial Estate, East Jakarta.

President Director of PT JIEP, Landi Rizaldi Mangaweang, explained that the plan to build cold storage in the Pulogadung Industrial Estate is an opportunity to seize opportunities from the increasing need for facilities in the cold chain system in Indonesia, especially in DKI Jakarta, in line with the increase in logistics activities in Indonesia due to the COVID-19 pandemic over the past 2 years.

"This cold storage is a concrete manifestation of PT JIEP in responding to business challenges by continuing to innovate in presenting the best products that have high supply & demand for the needs of facilities in the cold chain system in DKI Jakarta," said Landi, in his statement, Friday, December 23.

The construction of cold storage in the Pulogadung Industrial Estate also received very high appreciation from the Assistant for the Economy and Finance of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Secretariat, Sri Haryati and also from the Head of the National Food Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Arief Prasetyo Adi, who was also present at the event held at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta.

Sri Haryati said that efforts to bring fulfillment of food availability in DKI Jakarta have always been the main focus of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, therefore with the plan to build cold storage in the Pulogadung Industrial Estate with a fairly large capacity this deserves appreciation and support in our joint efforts to provide food availability for the people of DKI Jakarta.

Head of the National Food Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Arief Prasetyo Adi, also gave his highest appreciation to PT JIEP and also Perumda Dharma Jaya to work together in efforts to bring supply stabilization by increasing the life of perishable food storage through the facilitation of cold chain infrastructure facilities in DKI Jakarta.

"We really appreciate PT JIEP and also Perumda Dharma Jaya who are committed to realizing national food security through the presence of this large capacity cold storage to maintain food availability in DKI Jakarta and nationally," continued Arief.

Sebagai informasi tambahan, rencana pembangunan cold storage ini akan dimulai pada kuartal I tahun 2023 dan diperkirakan dapat beroperasi pada akhir tahun 2023 serta pengelolaannya akan dijalankan secara sinergi antara PT JIEP dan Perumda Dharma Jaya.
